Kebbi State Government has dissolved the Governing Council of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero (AFUSTA), and relieved the Vice Chancellor, two Deputy Vice Chancellors, Registrar, and Bursar of their duties. This decision follows recommendations from a Visitation Panel reviewing the institution’s affairs.
The State Executive Council made this decision to reposition the university for effective governance and improved academic standards. Professor Samaila Arzika Mungadi has been appointed as Sole Administrator, tasked with stabilizing the institution’s governance structure and restoring academic integrity.
The move is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the university’s performance. The appointment of Professor Mungadi takes immediate effect from April 30, 2026, pending the reconstitution of a new Governing Council.
