A section of the Zaria Central Mosque under reconstruction collapsed during casting work, injuring three workers. The incident occurred on the second floor near the southern minaret. The injured were rushed to a hospital.
The construction site was cordoned off, and debris was cleared. The site engineer was unavailable for comment, and the Zazzau Emirate Council declined to comment, citing a technical committee handling the project.
The mosque’s reconstruction project had a formal groundbreaking ceremony before work began. Authorities have yet to release further details on the incident.
