177 Nigerians returned to Nigeria via the Assisted Voluntary Return (AVR) program supported by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), arriving at Kano International Airport on June 10, 2026.
The returnees, including men, women, and children, received initial care from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Department of State Services (DSS), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
This exercise follows previous deportations, including 800 Nigerians returned in March 2026 via the Jibia-Magama border in Katsina State. The returnees came from 14 Nigerian states, including Kano, Jigawa, and Sokoto.
However, a total of 917, 000 so far arrived at North-West border most hits by current dread attack and bandits.
