The Federal Government has launched a project awareness campaign to showcase key development projects across Northern Nigeria. This initiative was unveiled by Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Enlightenment, during the Arewa Media Summit in Kano .
The campaign aims to highlight the progress made in the region, including infrastructure development, energy, healthcare, and agriculture. Some of the notable projects include the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road, and the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline project ¹ ².
Abdulaziz emphasized that President Bola Tinubu has done a credible job, and it’s essential for the media to project his emergence and showcase the government’s achievements. The Minister of Information, Mal. Idris Muhammad, spoke on ethics and regulations for the media to follow.
The Arewa Media Summit was attended by prominent figures, including the Spokesperson of the President, Bayo Onanuga. The event focused on strategies for effective reporting and promoting development in Northern Nigeria.
Some of the projects highlighted include:
- Infrastructure Development: Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road
- Energy: Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline project, 1350MW Gwagwalada Independent Power Plant
- Healthcare: Upgrade of Misau General Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre
- Agriculture: Rehabilitation of the Kumpada Irrigation Project
With, Kebbi, Kaduna, Yobe State attended by their Commissioners of Information, while Jigawa, Bauchi, Plateau, Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe States absent.
