The Kano State Police Command, led by Commissioner CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has launched “Operation Clean Plates”, a special initiative aimed at ensuring all vehicles operating in the state display valid number plates. The operation is part of efforts to enhance security and enforce traffic regulations.
According to Police spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, 81 vehicles have been impounded for violating traffic laws, including covering or not displaying number plates. Investigations are ongoing for three vehicles with unclear ownership details.
The police urge vehicle owners to register and display number plates as required by law to avoid penalties. This move aims to improve security and road safety in Kano State.
