The Sultan of Sokoto, Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has pledged the Sultanate Council’s support for the newly appointed District Heads, urging them to demonstrate credible leadership and inclusivity.
He emphasized the importance of working together to drive development in Sokoto State.
The new District Heads, led by Alhaji Usman Dan Sarki, District Head of Binji, recently paid a courtesy visit to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto, at his Gawon Nama residence in Sokoto. The delegation included Alhaji Aminu Ubandoma Jelani, Ubandoman Gari of Hamma’Ali; Hon. Lawali Labbo Margai, Sarkin Kabin Kebbe; and Alhaji Aminu Aliyu, Sarkin Yamman Balle.
Senator Wamakko congratulated the traditional rulers on their appointments, urging them to regard their positions as a divine calling and to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity. He emphasized the importance of working towards peace, unity, and community development.
The Senator also highlighted the Sokoto State Government’s commitment to addressing insecurity, improving education, healthcare, agriculture, and other critical sectors under the leadership of Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the District Heads expressed gratitude to Senator Wamakko for his guidance and support. They pledged to continue backing the Ahmad Aliyu-led administration’s programs and policies aimed at building a prosperous Sokoto State.
Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto has previously urged newly appointed District Heads to prioritize community development and security restoration. He promised the state government’s sustained support for their success.
