Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would relocate Nigeria’s capital from Abuja to Lagos if he wins the 2027 presidential election.
Ayodele made the claim in a video shared on social media while speaking about the political future of President Tinubu, who is seeking a second term under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the cleric, Lagos would undergo major structural changes if Tinubu secures re-election in 2027. He said the transformation could eventually lead to the relocation of the nation’s capital to Lagos.
“Lagos architecture will change,” Ayodele said, adding that the capital could be moved to areas such as Epe or Lekki, or another location within Lagos State.
The cleric did not provide specific evidence or details to support his prediction, and there was no indication in the report that the Federal Government had announced any plan to relocate the capital from Abuja.
Nigeria’s capital was officially moved from Lagos to Abuja in 1991 during the administration of former military President Ibrahim Babangida.
