
The Kano State Judicial Service Commission has taken disciplinary action against six judicial officers and a staff member for various acts of misconduct, corruption, and unethical behavior. One officer, Ibrahim Salim, Clerk of the Upper Shari’a Court, Rijiyar Lemo, was dismissed from service for forgery, falsification of court records, and demanding bribes from litigants ¹ ² ³.
Other sanctioned officers include:
- Isa Wudilawa, Principal Registrar, demoted from Grade Level 12 to 10 for diverting official funds
- Alkali Shamsu Maul’ainaini, Presiding Judge, demoted and strongly warned for financial misconduct
- Alkali Ibrahim Usman, Presiding Judge, issued a strong warning and had his promotion deferred for one year
- Magistrate Halima A. B. Wali, strongly warned for procedural lapses
- His Worship Abdul’aziz M. Habib, placed on half salary for three months and cautioned for disregarding official circulars
- Retired Judge Alkali Munzali Tanko, condemned for conducting judicial proceedings nine days after retirement
The Commission commended Alkali Ali Danzaki, Presiding Judge, for his integrity and courage in exposing the clerk’s misconduct
