Former, Minister of Defense, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has publicly called on the Kano State police chief to pull the security detail out of the Nasarawa Mini Palace where the 15th Emir Aminu Ado Bayero is temporarily occupied.

Speaking at the launch of the state‑run Neighbourhood Watch Corps, he argued that keeping officers there goes against Kano’s traditions, could inflame tensions, and that Muhammadu Sanusi II is the only legitimate emir.
He even described the palace as a “cemetery” and warned that using police to prop up a parallel emirate threatens peace in the state.
The appeal follows Governor Abba Yusuf’s decision to reinstate Sanusi after removing Bayero, a move that’s still tangled in legal battles.
