Bello Turji has issued a fresh ultimatum in Isa Local Government Area, warning residents to vacate their villages or face “dire consequences.”
The threat, delivered after months of relative silence, has sparked panic and a mass exodus: families are fleeing Tidibale and surrounding settlements for safety in Isa town, Gidan Hamisu and even across the border to Shinkafi in Zamfara State.
Public Affairs Local commentators say Turji is trying to re‑assert his relevance and control, and the warning has deepened an already fragile security situation in eastern Sokoto, with women, children and the elderly among those displaced.
