Kidnapped victims in Igboho, Oyo State, have regained their freedom shortly after Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, issued a two-hour ultimatum to Fulani leaders in the community on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The victims—a pregnant woman, her children, and her sibling—were abducted during an overnight attack. Their captors initially demanded a ransom of ₦300 million, which was later reduced to ₦150 million.
Speaking during a meeting with traditional rulers and community elders at the palace, Sunday Igboho insisted that no ransom would be paid. He gave Fulani leaders a two-hour deadline to ensure the victims’ safe return, warning that he would personally lead an operation into the forest camps of the abductors if they failed to comply.
Shortly after the ultimatum, the victims were reportedly released, bringing relief and celebration to residents of the community.
