A tragic road accident involving a trailer heading to Gujungu, Jigawa State, has claimed the lives of over 30 people at Kwanar Barde in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The crash, reportedly caused by reckless driving, has left many others seriously injured and receiving medical attention.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the families of the victims, describing the incident as “heartbreaking” and a “huge loss” to the state.
He has directed the Kano State Ministry of Health to provide free medical care to survivors and instructed the Office of the Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs to assess the situation and support affected families.
