Kaduna State is experiencing a shift in its political landscape following the rift between Governor Uba Sani and former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is gaining momentum, with plans to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections .
The ADC has begun mass registration and consultations across the state’s 23 local governments and 255 wards, aiming to build a strong grassroots structure.
This move is seen as a direct challenge to the APC, which has been weakened by internal conflicts and defections, including the exit of former APC National Vice Chairman (Northwest), Salihu Lukman, who now leads the ADC coalition.
*Key Factors Contributing to APC’s Decline:*
– _El-Rufai’s Departure_: El-Rufai’s exit from the APC and subsequent conflicts with Governor Sani have fractured the party’s structure and loyalty.
– _Demolition of Houses and Sacking of Workers_: El-Rufai’s policies, including the demolition of houses and sacking of workers, have created widespread bitterness among residents.
– _Lack of Internal Democracy_: The APC’s perceived lack of internal democracy and imposition of candidates have driven away supporters.
The ADC’s rise is seen as an opportunity for opposition parties to unite and challenge the APC in 2027.
Meanwhile, ex- Governor Nasiru, El-rufai sparked N1 bn naira allegations against the government which has again led to his unwarranted arrest at the Airport.
Former, Minister was behind Tinubu election anointing Uba Sani as governor, attack at Uba Sani and his ally that today led to his invitation by EFCC and also dragged to Court by FG.
