Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has submitted a list of 23 nominees to the State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation as Commissioners. The nominees were selected based on their expertise and potential contributions to the state’s development.
In a letter to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, Governor Yahaya cited Section 192 (2) of the 1999 Constitution, seeking the Assembly’s approval for the appointments. The nominees include Alh. Abdulkadir Mohammed Waziri, Alh. Sanusi Ahmed, and Haj. Aishatu Mohammed Bose Ahmed, among others.
The Governor expressed confidence that the Assembly would consider the nominations favorably, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in driving the state’s development agenda. The nominees are expected to be screened and confirmed by the Assembly in the coming days.
If confirmed, the new Commissioners will be sworn in and assigned portfolios to oversee various state ministries. Governor Yahaya has pledged to ensure effective governance and service delivery in the state.
