The All Progressives Congress APC gubernatorial hopeful in Gombe State, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has pledged to make human capital development the foundation of his administration if elected in 2027.
Gwamna made the pledge on July 14, 2026, during a political gathering in Gombe where former gubernatorial aspirant, Aliyu Kombat, formally dissolved his structure from state level to ward level and pitched tent with him.
Describing the development as a major boost, Gwamna thanked Kombat and his supporters for their loyalty and commitment to the growth of Gombe State. He said the merger was a clear sign that the party was building a united front ahead of the elections.
The APC candidate stressed that young people would occupy the center of his policy agenda. He listed education, skills empowerment, job creation, and self-reliance programs as his key priorities.
โOur youths are the backbone of our future. We will invest in their education, create jobs, and support initiatives that make them productive and independent,โ Gwamna stated.
He also urged APC members and Gombe residents to rally behind the party at all levels, arguing that political unity is critical to achieving sustainable development.
Gwamna linked his vision to the broader reforms of the federal government, saying: โUnder the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Nigeria is on a path of renewal. Gombe State must key into that same direction.โ
In his own remarks, Aliyu Kombat said he was backing Gwamna because of his proven leadership and genuine concern for the people.
โHe has the interest of the people at heart. That is why my supporters and I have decided to join forces with him,โ Kombat explained.
The event has been described as a turning point for Gombe APC politics, signaling growing consolidation within the party and stronger momentum ahead of the 2027 polls.
