The Kano State Government has clarified that its ban on horse riding does not affect His Royal Highness, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.
The government said the clarification became necessary following reports that Emir Sanusi defied the state’s directive on Durbar and horse riding during the Independence celebration.
According to the state, the restriction was not targeted at Emir Sanusi but was part of security measures taken after an emergency meeting of the State Security Council.
It explained that the directive was aimed at preventing possible clashes and maintaining public order and protection of lives and property across the state.
The government therefore urged the public to disregard insinuations that Emir Sanusi violated any government order, stressing that his horse ride was not in contravention of the ban.
