The recent story of Kiswah is quite intriguing. In 2017, three pieces of the sacred cloth covering the Kaaba in Mecca were sent to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in the United States.
The shipment, arranged by Emirati businesswoman Aziza Al-Ahmadi and Saudi intermediary Abdullah Al-Maari, included pieces from inside and outside the Kaaba, as well as an unused piece.
The Kiswah is a black cloth with gold embroidery, replaced annually during the Hajj pilgrimage. It’s considered a revered artifact in Islam, symbolizing the unity and majesty of Allah. The cloth is made from pure silk, dyed black, and embroidered with Quranic verses using gold or silver thread.
The revelation of Epstein’s acquisition of the Kiswah pieces sparked outrage and controversy, with many questioning how he obtained the sacred cloth and what his intentions were.
