Senator Aliyu Wammakko, representing Sokoto Central Senatorial Seat, has departed from Aminu Kano International Airport to Jeddah to perform the Lesser Hajj. He was accompanied by dignitaries, including the Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, and his aide, Aminu Dalhatu and son Mahdi Wammakko. The Senator’s entourage also included family members, and a prayer session was held before their departure.
Wammakko has been a vocal advocate for improving Hajj operations in Nigeria. In a previous meeting with the National Hajj Commission, he emphasized the need to reduce Hajj costs and advocated for pilgrims to pay registration fees in Nigerian currency. He also suggested implementing Wammakko’s suggestions, the Commission’s Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, stated that the visit aimed to foster collaboration and ensure a smooth Hajj operation.
