The All Progressives Congress has officially cleared Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna to contest the 2027 Gombe State governorship election.
The clearance came after a screening exercise conducted today at the Kaduna State Governor’s Lodge, Plot 37 Jose Marti Street, Asokoro, Abuja.
The process was carried out in line with the APC constitution and the party’s internal guidelines for nomination.
Chairman of the screening committee, Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye, said Gwamna met all constitutional and procedural requirements to participate in the party’s governorship process.
He added that the exercise was transparent and in accordance with the party’s commitment to internal democracy.
Speaking after the screening, Dr. Gwamna thanked the APC leadership for what he described as a credible and rigorous process.
“I am honoured to have successfully gone through this important constitutional process of our great party,” he said.
Gwamna noted that the screening strengthens confidence in the democratic values and internal structures of the APC.
He reaffirmed his commitment to consolidate the developmental strides recorded in Gombe State under Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
“Our vision is to ensure that Gombe State works better for every citizen, regardless of background or status,” Gwamna stated.
He said the plan is to build on existing achievements while introducing new ideas that will improve the lives of the people.
Gwamna also commended the performances of Governor Inuwa Yahaya and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said their leadership and developmental achievements have strengthened public confidence in the APC at both state and national levels.
According to him, the visible progress recorded under the current administrations will energize the party’s support base ahead of 2027.
He urged party members and supporters to remain united, disciplined, and focused on the goal ahead.
“The success of the APC in Gombe State depends on collective effort, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to progress,” he added.
For Gombe indigenes, the clearance signals continuity with a candidate who has already invested in education, employment, and skills development across the state for nearly two decades.
